If when you try plugging in your GPS device, your computer isn't recognizing it, the first thing to do is check a different USB port on your computer and that you're using the provided Lezyne USB cable. You'll definitely want to plug it directly into the computer and not through a peripheral device like a keyboard or a USB hub as well.
Note: If the computer sees the device but the updater application doesn't, unplug any other device plugged into your computer. Our updater might be looking at the other device rather than your GPS device.
Occasionally, some Macs or some Windows 10 systems have trouble recognizing the device if you've never updated before. If you have a Windows 7 machine available to you, it might be worth trying it for your initial firmware update. After that first update, Mac OSX or Windows 10 should no longer have any trouble recognizing the device.
If your device is still not being recognized, it might need to be connected in bootloader mode.
Bootloader Mode
Go to lezyne.com. Hover over Support at the top of the screen, and select Update GPS Unit.
Scroll down, and select the appropriate updater for your computer operating system.
There are a number of ways your operating system and your browser might handle the download. Make sure that the updater file is downloaded and saved to your computer.
Open and run the Lezyne GPS firmware update program.
Hold down the Enter and Lap buttons while plugging it into your computer for a Mega, Super, or Macro GPS device.
Hold down the Enter and Menu buttons while plugging it into your computer for a Micro or Mini GPS device.
While the updater is installing the firmware, do not unplug or attempt to operate the GPS unit. The update should only take a few minutes to complete. |
When the installation is complete, Do not click on OK. After preforming the Bootloader procedure, you should follow up with force updating the GPS device below. |
Force updating the device
On Windows, the firmware updater has the pull-down menu in the upper right-hand corner where it says Lezyne Gps Firmware Programmer.
On a Mac, the pull-down menu is next to the Apple icon in the upper right corner of your screen where it says Lezyne-Firmware-Programmer.
Select Force update. The Updater will install the update, bypassing some checks that might have caused errors on previous installations.
While the updater is installing the firmware, do not unplug or attempt to operate the GPS unit. The update should only take a few minutes to complete. |
When the installation is complete, you can click OK. This will close the updater. You can disconnect the GPS from your computer and get riding. |
