You can download Offline Maps to your Mega XL, Mega C, and Super Pro GPS devices using gpsroot.com, or using the Lezyne GPS Ally+ app. Transferring Offline Map data between the Ally+ app and GPS unit can be helpful when trying to navigate over a long tour.
Downloading New Offline Maps
To start working with your mapping data, Go to the Navigation section of the Ally+ app.
iPhone |
Android |
For iPhone, click on the gear icon to select Offline Maps. For Android, select the 3-dot menu at the top right.
|
At the top of the next screen you can choose to download a new map region. |
When downloading new map regions in the app, you can see areas that have already been downloaded, so you can best choose where to select your next region to download. Drag and zoom-in/zoom-out to designate the space you'd like to download. Then select Download. The app will generate your map file. |
Once the app is done generating the file, you will see the map file appear in your list of Offline Maps. You can rename map tiles to better keep track of them in your list. You can even name them for days of a tour, like Coast Trip Day 1-3, Coast Trip Day 4-5, etc. |
Moving Offline Maps Between the Ally+ App and GPS device
After an Offline Map is downloaded to the Ally app, it can be transferred to the GPS unit.
Open your GPS Ally+ app, and make sure you’re connected to your GPS.
When the map data is only available on the phone, it will only show a phone icon and the command to SEND TO GPS. To begin transfer of the map data to the GPS, just press SEND TO GPS and confirm the selection. |
It's recommended to do this when not riding, because transfer times can be several minutes due to the limitations of Bluetooth Low Energy data transmission. While the file transferred to the GPS is smaller than the size shown for the app data, it is still a significant percentage. |
When the map is transferred to the GPS, there will be a device icon underneath the phone icon (NOTE: Only visible while the GPS and app are connected) |
To delete the maps from the GPS, long-press or swipe left on the map in the list and choose to delete from the GPS. |
You can continuously repeat this process as needed to keep relevant map data on your GPS device.
If you have any questions about this process, or are having any problems dealing with your map data, submit a request for help from our Support Team.
