Our January 2018 firmware release introduced a number of new training features; among those is the ability to load workouts from TrainingPeaks.
Note: There is also a video showing the process at the bottom of this article.
Set-up
Before getting started you'll need to sync your Lezyne Root account with your desired training site. You can do that either through the Lezyne Root site on your settings page or through the app.
- Sync via Lezyne Root website
- Navigate to http://www.lezyne.com/gpsroot/
- Click Settings at the top of the page.
- Click the appropriate Confirm **** Sync link. If you're already logged into the training site, it will prompt you to accept the sync.
- Sync via Lezyne Ally v2 app
- Select the Training tab.
- This is on the bottom of the screen on iPhone and in the slide out menu to the left on Android.
- Tap your desired training site.
- Confirm your connection.
- Select the Training tab.
- Set-up power and/or heart rate zones
- On the aforementioned Training Programs screen in the v2 app, after you've synced with TrainingPeaks, you will see Setup Zones. Select that.
- Select Heart rate zones.
- Sync with your desired training site, or enter your max heart rate as 100%.
- Tap Back.
- Select Power Zones.
- Sync with your desired training site, or enter your FTP.
TrainingPeaks
To integrate a workout from TrainingPeaks, first create a training profile with them and follow the steps below.
- Navigate to https://app.trainingpeaks.com/
- If you need to create a workout, click Add workout under the Today section. If you have workouts already scheduled, skip to Step 9.
- Select the discipline.
- Note that we only support Bike, Mtn Bike, Run, or Walk.
- Click Build Workout.
- Select Duration (we do not support distance).
- Choose either Functional Threshold Power, Maximum Heart Rate, or Threshold Heart Rate.
- Note: if you choose Distance from step 5, or Threshold Speed or Rate of Perceived Exertion in step 6, the workout will not show up in the Ally v2 app.
- Drag the pre-made blocks down to the field just below it.
- Note: if your coach only added notes but no intervals in the workout, the workout will not show up in the Ally v2 app.
- Adjust any of the blocks by clicking on them and then editing the time or effort.
- Click Save & Close at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Once it's saved, open your Lezyne Ally v2 app.
- Select the Training tab.
- This is on the bottom of the screen on iPhone and in the slide out menu to the left on Android.
- If the workout you just created isn't already there, swipe down.
- Tap the workout for today.
- The GPS will ask if you're ready to start the workout, select Yes.
- If you aren't ready to begin, select No. When you're ready to start the workout, pause your ride and Start Training will be an option presented in the menu.
If you need to skip to the next interval for any reason, press the GPS Lap button to do so.
TrainingPeaks has a help center if further assistance is needed on creating or adding workouts.
